Cracked counts down the most the 10 Most Terrifyingly Inspirational ’80s Songs. The winner? “Eye of the Tiger”:

Here’s a little exercise that illustrates perfectly what this song is capable of. Think of the weakest, most pedestrian chore you can do, for example, doing laundry. Now play “Eye of the Tiger” in the background. If, by the end of that spin cycle you haven’t managed to somehow kill a grizzly bear with fabric sheets or make sweet love to every woman within 40 yards, then you need to see a coroner because you apparently died the night before.

Yep. Hard to argue with that choice.

Look at this dog.

As you can see, this dog is NOT lost. It’s just awesome.

Hatebook is half-spoof / half-serious social network that sorta cleverly mimics Facebook. Like Deadjournal before it, Hatebook teases its target while embracing its form: The sign-up screen is a dead-on evil twin.

Personally, I’m not sure why a one-note spoof site would make you register to see how deeply they’ve taken the joke. It’s a red Facebook for haters. I’m not sure I need to see anything else.

Ann Coulter: For your entertainment. Literally.

Posted on October 3rd, 2007 in uncategorized |

I am not joking, kids. I’m not posting her latest boorish statements to incite your wrath. No, I want your mirth. Wasting rage on Ann Coulter is like trying to donate sperm to a brothel. It’s like kissing dandelions in a tornado.

She’s an entertainer. Be entertained.

On women:
If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.

It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it’s the party of women and ‘We’ll pay for health care and tuition and day care — and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?’

On why global warming is religion on the left:
Because we can’t prove them wrong for a thousand years, and I think the other thing about it is, it goes back to Chesterton’s statement: that when people stop believing in God, the problem isn’t that they believe in nothing, it’s that they’ll believe anything. And that’s what you constantly see with people who don’t believe in God: They’re always imitating the most ridiculous, primitive religions. And it is like a primitive religion, thinking if we just change these lightbulbs, we can change the temperature of the ocean. It’s the craziest thing! Even primitive people wouldn’t believe something that silly.

Little Girl vs Big Yellow Dodge Ball

I’m not sure whether the maniacal laughing is part of the scene or if it was added later. Either way, this poor unfortunate girl has already achieved some measure of internet fame in her young life. So dry those tears, young one.

In one episode where they are showing “Creature from the Black Lagoon” there are these two guys clowning around a backyard kiddy pool that looks like it was shot in the Heights. And they even recreated the “Baby Ruth bar in the pool” gag from CADDYSHACK. (That was the “revenge of the creature.”) When they feature a puppet, you can see the arm, and the mic boom drops in all the time. I have no doubt it’s intentional, at least most of the time.

They are sponsored by Party Boy warehouse, and apparently get all their (rather crappy) costumes and props there.

And right now they’re showing several classic Universal monster movies.

And they have a website, a MySpace page and videos on YouTube.

10:30 Saturday nights, Channel 55.

It’s not really very good, but I just love the fact that someone is still doing this kind of thing.

A few posts ago, Marshall linked to a message board conversation concerning the nerdliness of Dungeons and Dragons. Here is a (seven-year-old) response to that.

This should be quite familiar to any fan of table-top role playing games. Or to basically any geek who spent more Friday nights at a kitchen table covered with character sheets and multi-sided dice than in a parking lot smoking cigarettes and drinking Mad Dog 20/20. OH LIKE YOU WOULD PREFER THAT BETTER.

I love the human race…
